"In or out of the Criminal Courts - a focus on crime and quasi crime" Part I and Part II - 24th September and 22nd October
This highly successful seminar came in two parts. Michael Egan QC opened the first with presentations entitled " Just when you thought you were sure – the standard of proof in Tribunals” and "Treading carefully – Misconduct Cases where diversity issues arise.”
"Tools of the Trade: FSA Powers” was presented by Alexandra Ward followed by Mukul Chawla QC talking about “Benefits – What Benefits?”. The evening was concluded with Stuart Biggs dealing with "The Peaceful Enjoyment of Possessions - restraint, seizure, forfeiture and disclosure of assets.”
Part II of this seminar kicked off with an up-date on Road Traffic Law presented by Alexandra Ward. Under the title "Propensity to do what?..." Clare Huntley outlined a "Practical Guide to the Bad Character Provisions of the Criminal Justice Act 2003". This was followed by "Are you ready for sex?" - "A short guide to the defence preparation of cases of sexual assault" presented by Johannah Cutts QC.
